I bought an aftermarket bluetooth kit that plugs into the CD changer input on the back of the stock radio. You can control it with the existing button and the unit is hidden behind the dash. Work a treat and easy to install.

This was it on Ebay "Car Stereo bluetooth Handsfree A2DP CD Changer adapter-Audi A6 Allroad 1998-2004"

You also need the keys to remove the radio " Audi A6 Symphony Car Factory Radio Stereo (4) Removal Release Tool Keys Set Pair", again on Ebay.

Any idea which one you purchased? eBay lists several different ones as there's no match to the word string you listed. If you see the one you purchased I'll buy one too. TIA

With fewer words in my search I found this:

Looks good, let us know if you try it.

Default After installing

Here's my BT streaming solution from eBay. It also gives me a couple other charging ports. Looks like it belongs there. Plugs into the rear cig jack, so I keep the front closed. Push the button to answer a call....
Actually this little thing I found on eBay works really well. I bought one for my daughter's 2006 XC90 that doesn't have BT. She talks on the phone, streams, memory card, USB, Charges, etc. with it. plugs into the lighter socket and is CD quality. Not as complicated as all the things that plug into the back of the head unit, but worth a try. I just ordered a second for my new (to me) S8.

Best of luck

Good luck.
Reading through the rest of the thread here I noticed some saggy headliners. If you haven't done yours yet, I used this 3M product to install a headliner panel in my '68 Chevy 4X4 and it sticks fine. I was also going to use screws (as it called for), but this stuff is really tough. I've done all kinds of terrain with it and it's stayed fast. Check it out...… https://tinyurl.com/y6z29g9d

I had my headliner redone by a local upholstery shop earlier this year. It was $450.

I use a totally redneck Bluetooth solution, a cassette tape adapter to the headphone jack on my phone. I use a windshield mount for my phone next to the a-pillar so I can see the navigation. It also allows me to make hands free calls. The caller hears my voice because the phone is relatively close, and I can hear the call through the car speakers like listening to a cassette. I drive a lot for work, and it seems to work pretty good. Cost was about $10 for the adapter. Not super clean, but it does the trick for now.

I bought the e-bay one for $67. It feels and looks pretty cheap, but i think it has a lot of functionality for the price. Works fine when hooked up to the head unit, but doesn't work with the CD changer connector in the trunk for some reason.

I'd like to mount it in the glove box. Is there an easy way to route the cable from behind the head unit to the glove box?
