Default S8 Lumbar Support Update. My warranty company sprung for the parts...

they would have paid for the labor but since my wrench had never performed this operation I thought it better to give it a whirl myself. I plan on pulling out the passenger seat and doing it in the comfort of my living room at my leisure. With that said, does anybody have the procedure for pulling apart the Recaro seat? The A8 seat is documented but I cannot find anything on the S8 Recaro. Anybody with Elsa perhaps? Bentley is of no use here. I plan on documenting this quite well knowing that many of you are interested. I expect to have the parts in hand within the week. Schweeeet!

I would imagine it's very similar to the standard seat....go in from behind!

Default There are three documented repairs that I know of. In all cases the "lumbar controller"...

was replaced. Some other parts were replaced in two of the three repairs but the controller was the common part and appears to be the culprit from what I have gathered. Cost from Carson at Riverside is ~ $200 per controller. Level of effort to replace the suckers is unknown at this time but I can't imagine it is too difficult. Sadly the Recaro rep that answered my initial plea for help decided to now ignore me. Can't say as I blame him :-)

I assume same Paul but if Doug is able to dig up a Linus blanket I'd be more comfortable :-)

Default Beating Mr. Beefer to the punch - going in from behind always produces good results. Now, which...

...warranty you have? Audi Certified IIRC?

Interesting.

Best of luck. You need hog ring pliers should you need to remove the cover.

and

do yer best not to do anything TOO Polish!

Default Yeah Audi Certified or something like that. Expires today after which GL gets the business.

Too Polish? Impossible for me dontcha know. Anybody up there with Elsawin to maybe help minimize the Polishness quotient?

Couldn´t figure out how to get i out in one peace, so i just put everything back again
I am sure this is the only problem with the lumbar, and it shouldn´t be that hard to repair.

The "Lumbar Controller" is PN 4D0959931. Dunno what you have pictured there Mex.
