it is a 98 w/ 53k miles on it.

timing belt yes about 100k, control arms yes, tranny issues most likely.. but 50k miles? wow that is low miles. how much and whaat color?

Do not buy an A8 older than a 2000 !!!! You will notice that a good portion of this forum is taken up by 97-99 A8 owners trying to figuer\\re out what to do about their bad transmissions.
