Default So I did my LED lights this weekend!!!

I was originally gonna do what AliA8 did and put the lights inside the headlights however after getting the headlight out and apart I thought better of it and decided to instead place my LED strips in my lower grilles. I purchased them from the below link. They were the white, 9.5" strips. The install was very easy actually. Here is my writeup-

LED strip install:

-Remove lower valance grille.
-Drill small hole in the corner of the grille using a small (maybe 1/8" drill bit). This is to fish the wire thru.
-Using the provided, precut 3M tape, affix the strip to the back of the LED strip. (the pass. front grill is solid in the back except for a 3" mesh part for air flow. The driver side has 3 1" flat plastic sections to apply the 3M tape to. Its obvious when you look at them)
-Insert the LED strip into the top slot in the grill (its a perfect fit...like they were made to go there!)
-reinstall grill after fishing wire thru grill hole first and then thru bumper.
-Unplug the parking light and using a multimeter, test for the positive lead. (I forget which one as they were different colored wires on either side).
Splice the SILVER wire to the positive lead and then ground the COPPER wire.

Easy as that.

LED Strips

Default

does it help on your visibility on the road or is it strictly cosmetic?

Default Dang, you beat me to it, ordered mine yesterday....

2 questions..

1) did you cut the strip, to make it fit - on facelifts, the grille is about 8 inches

2) do they power up when you turn the key, or do you have to flip the parkinglight/headlight switch one step.
