Startup rattle

Startup rattle
I have a 2001 Audi A8l, I changed the oil with Mobil 1 5w30 now I start it up and it rattles for a second then when oil hits the top end it stops. I switched to 5w40 to see if that would help. It didn't.
Is there a oil drain back valve that might have been clogged up and left open. I plan on doing a oil pressure test but my oil light has only came on once
I replaced the oil pressure switch too. Still no oil light. Any ideas?

Standard rattle created by the timing chain hydraulic adjusters. As long as the rattle is only a few seconds after startup, you're fine. It's very common on our motors. Depending on your mileage, what I would worry about the most is the condition of the plastic wear pads which keep the timing chains from grinding metal on metal. You can replace the adjusters during the next timing belt change, but it's not a task recommended for the novice. It's critical to get the timing chains correct or you may bend a few valves on startup.
Google "4.2 audi timing adjuster pads." Two for each adjuster, four total used on the engine.
