I recently bought a 98 A8Q which is a pleasure to drive but one disapointment I have is that the sun roof does not seem to have an option to move the interior roof and leave the clear exterior sun roof in place. I have never seen a sun roof like this - it appears that the only options are to slide the entire roof back from the front or to lift the entire roof from the rear. Am I missing something ? Why on God's green earth would they not give an option to leave the clear sunroof exposed on a vehicle popular in cold weather climate. It leaves the sunroof useless for 9 months of the year in Alaska unless someone wants freezing weather and noise. If anyone knows of a way to slide the interior roof out of the way please let me know.

If so, the only way would be to replace the solar sunroof with a standard sunroof that has the sliding interior cover.
