Survey: What year & how many miles does everyone have...?
I have a 98' with little over 92k on it. I bought it last Feb. with 52k on it and am wondering if I should trade it in for a newer model. I will be changing the TB soon. As you can see I put an extremely large amount of miles on my vehicles. I have a 100 mile a day round trip to work. These are mainly highway miles but still the wear is still a concern. I have not had any problems with it (outside of the new tranny the stealer put in it), which was all under warrantee. Just trying to make a decision before the dreaded 100k hits.
Any thoughts....

IMO. .I look at this and similar "car" issues by asking myself this question. . . .
my current car is worth X bucks. . . with those bucks. . .could I replace it with an equal or better car?

1997 4.2L 105K miles. I plan to take this car to at least 200-250K miles.
There is NOTHING else out there that can even come close to this car for the money! I don't see any potentially big problems (tranny?) until at least 150-200K miles. Just keep up the maintenance!!

Exactly, if I could replace a with a comperable car...
...and get lower mileage, I'd do it. But, I can't find a better deal even when I factor in the expensive repair costs on the A8.
BTW I have a 2000 with 90k on it, just did TB, water pump, and tranny fluid and filters. I bought the car in October of 02, replacing my 1993 S4.

Any major problems...?
How long have you had the car? I wanted to know before I put money into more upgrades (i.e. big brake & H&R's).
So you are due for another TB change?
