Hi. My 2002 A8L is fitted with the Bose Symphony II head unit and I'm thinking of changing it to an aftermarket 7" touch screen. Navigation is not at all important to me, bluetooth and iPod are. The most important thing though, is the gapping hole left in my dash, which is basically the reason I have waited so long to do the swap.

Has anyone done a swap like that for the A8 and if so, how did they overcome the lack of a facia for our car?

It seems most do the RNSE upgrade, I would love to but with the repairs lately I can't think about the idea.

I feel ya. I can't justify the money I will spend acquiring the required hardware from the local market here, to do the RNS-E upgrade. I really want to know if anyone has tried to modify the available fascia's for the A4 or A6 fitted with the Symphony II? Or if anyone has pics of an A8 (d2) with an aftermarket 7" head unit?
