Tiptronic question

Tiptronic question
I don't use the tiptronic very often but recently I did. I noticed something strange. When I step on the gas and the I am in 2nd gear the RPM's grow steadily up. Right at 2800 rpm the odometer stops for a fraction of a second, and then it continues steadily to move up uver the 3000 mark. It is like the throtle stops giving gas at 2800 for a fraction of of a second and then it realeases again. what is that. 2800 is usually the when my car shifts in auto mode. Are the two issues related.

I've mentioned this before, Stoney noticed it a while back.
Congratulations! You have vehicle empathy, most don't realize this problem exists.
I didn't notice it as much in my 1998 A8, but it is a continual, definite irritation in my 2000.
Try this to confirm it is the same as what I am experiecing. I've noticed that the problem "goes away" so long as I start my second gear throttle application above ~2000 RPM. If I bring the throttle starting below 2000 RPM, the stumble will occur at ~2600 RPM, every time.
This is what I call the "inadvertant torque reduction signal", but I don't have the Vag-Com data to prove it. In general, it will come on at roughly the point your car would want to start the upshift to third if you were in drive and not tiptronic. Also, my A6 will inadvertantly upshift into third at this point when the tranny is cold.

I forget the datablocks to check (122?)... interested in your results!
skiwi's comments to my question a few days ago got me thinking on this again.
I also notice it sometimes in 1st, but the car "eats" 1st so fast it is subtle.

https://forums.audiworld.com/a8/msgs/48877.phtml</a

Re: I notice it in 2nd gear and in 3rd sometimes.. almost like its getting ready to shift.
I've got an 2000 A8L and I'm noticing the same thing. Seemed to start after a long road trip, my first thought was that the DSP reacting to "old man" driving. I think the tranny is set to 00002.
It appears to hesitate, shifting to something like 2.5, then to 3rd. It's very smooth though, no clunking or anything like that.
