Default Tire Sizing Question :

Would either of these sizes work on my standard 17" rims ? say that a fella wanted a slightly narrower profile . . .

215/50/17 or
215/55/17 ?? and seems that there are more options for brands of rubber at this size - although the highly regarded Avon 550 comes in either size

Thanks,
Eric Natural

Default I would not recommend either size because they are both smaller in diameter

and smaller load carrying capacity of those sizes.

Default Thx 8 - no way to run a skinnier tire than 225 series ?

I don't see one listed for 17" on this list

Default Found it, thanks

looks like 205/60/17 is a near exact replacement for skinnier rubber effect.
