Default track day in new audi's

had circuits in the d3 4.2q, and the s4, as well as having seat time in the a3 3.2 dsg and the tt 3.2 dsg.

i won't bore you with anything other than the observation that the d3 handled better, particulalry under braking, than the s4 avant. i was going slightly faster in the s4, maybe 10km/hr (165 vs 150-odd) when hitting the anchors at maximum, but i was astonished how good the d3 felt under these conditons. i can only assume that this is due to the air suspension doing its stuff.

i also considered that i was lapping as fast in the d3 as in the s4, although stop watches were not being used. when i mentioned this to some of the other people there, their response was "well the a8 is so big it would feel fast, whereas the s4 is more agile".

bollocks.

at home, i looked up the weight difference between the s4 avant quattro, and the a8 4.2q.

any takers????

how about 60kgs.

Default I take it you were in a SWB D3

I too am curious what weight the SWB D3 will be in the US.

I saw about 4 of them on the street in Spain.....they look great! I like the A8L, but I don't think enough to own one....but I have a strong feeling that the SWB D3 will be my next car.

It needs a few modifications though!

Default I wonder what these cars really weigh ??

Audiusa.com lists the curb weight of the D3 A8L at 1995 kg (4399 lb).

Audi.co.uk lists the unladen weight of the D3 A8L at 1830 kg (4035 lb).

Audi.co.uk lists the unladen weight of the D3 A8 SWB at 1780 kg (3925 lb).

There's similar confusion over the weight of the D2 S8. Audiusa.com listed the curb weight at 1845 kg (4068 lb), but an '02 Car&Driver test weight was 1746 kg (3850 lb).

Default Fat? Where did you get the idea that we are fat? ;-)

I went into a Diesel jean store in Spain....they had about 8 stacks of jeans 4 feet high....the guy asked me what size I needed....

Well...I would like to say I'm a 36, but now creaping up to a 38.....so I tell him 36.....out of the 8 stack of jeans....they have TWO pairs that are 36, the rest are smaller!

People in Europe are really much, much smaller than we are in the states!

Default According to my fasion concious x-gf.......

Who spent a summer in Italy, yes they're smaller but they also like to wear really TIGHT cloathing. Yes the men too! She spent 3 mos for a summer law school thing. Even some of her male friends that were not strait said the cloathing there was even too gay for them!

She didn't even try to buy pants for me there, I ended up with a xxl t-shirt that was still skin tight on me. That was before I dumped 50 pounds of weight but even today that shirt is still very small on me.

When I go to visit my family in Europe I do not plan to buy any cloathing.
