Default Transmission output seal

Hi there,

My transmission output seal "died".. and has been dripping "oil" on the catalytic converter for a few months.. oh happy days

I know how to change the seal, but its the oil part that bugs me..
Does anybody know if I have to refill it the hard way through the transmission pan?
Or as this guide says: audipages A8 Transmission Seal Replacement
"Remove the gear lube fill plug on the right hand side of the distributor gear with a 8 mm hex wrench. Open the gear lube bottle, it has a long nipple built in. Put the nipple in the distributor gear and fill the cavity until oil starts coming out, probably about 8 oz or less. Put the fill plug back in place and torque."
I just dont know where gear lube fill plug is located.
Picture anybody?

Thanks, and have a nice weekend

/Kim

The fill plug is at "B". Be prepared for a fight (I've done this a few times)... these plugs tend to tighten themselves, even when you are the one who put it in.

Use a good "sharp" allen socket (tapped firmly into place) and a breaker bar ... if you strip strip the head of the allen plug, you're gonna be one sad panda

Cheers
