Default Transmission rebuild finale

Well I picked up my car from the transmission shop thursday afternoon after a three day rebuild. I must say WOW. My A8 is finally the car I always thought it should be. She actually glides at highway speeds w/o the dropping in/out of the TC. Driving along from 45-80 and then removing the foot from the gas peddle the car just hangs there! When getting back on the gas it just pulls. Driving away from a stand still the upshifts are extremely smooth and tight. Going along at 35-45 I use to always get that wierd tach/gearing mess up now nothing. The big test was this gradual long incline which created all kinds of problems now it's not even an issue. I was not able to hook up the ross-tech but I do believe the coding is us with the dsp, this is based upon the tach/speed/upshifts. If it is I can't wait to recode to 00011.
As far as any negatives there is a very slight thump when coming to a complete stop, I'll keep and eye on it and see what happens. The tech from Selex, the shop which did the work, said to drive normally just don't get on it for a few hundred miles to let everything settle in and allow the clutches to get fully lubricated, maybe that is what I am experiencing from time to time.
I guess only time will tell if the rebuild was a complete success but as of now I am more than satisfied. I love my A8 all over again!

Very nice. What was the final cost and what did they do with the valve body?

The final cost was 2380 a bit more than the first quot 2100. That is for everything. The additional cost was for a drum housing A - I don't have the actual bill in front of me now.
The valve body was completely cleaned orifices went through and some changed, springs too as well as all the solenoids. I believe he also adjusted the first one from the right to attain more boost - at least he said something along those lines.
