Is this trunk lock cylinder broken?
1997 A8 Quattro, Canadian model. Key wouldn't turn. Took it out and sprayed WD-40 into it multiple times, after the cylinder not budging when I tried to push it out. Finally was able to take it apart by tapping on it with a punch and small ball peen hammer. Freed up now, due to the WD-40. But the lock cylinder itself doesn't look like the drawing in the Bentley manual, or like the one shown at quattroworld.com Forums: Trunk lock cylinder rehab or swap.. It looks to me that the cylinder is in 2 pieces, and the part surrounding the end where the key goes in is still stuck to the front half of the lock cylinder. Did I break it? If so, can I just buy a used one and move the pins over so I can use the same key? Why do the instructions say to insert the key before taking it apart (I did)? A used one I found doesn't come with a key, so I'm afraid I won't be able to get it apart if the key is necessary to do so.

I was able to put it all back together, and it works correctly. Even though the lock cylinder in the Bentley drawing and website pictures I referenced above look different than mine.
