Update to AoA Petition: Last Call
Hey guys,
after the posting last week, I have had several last second additions. Thanks to all of you! If anyone else wants in, let me know and I'll get you added. We have $40k + in repairs quoted from members here on addressing this issue. This will have a much larger impact on the AoA A8 advocate teams response as opposed to each of us individually inquiring. All of you guys that have sent me your info will get an e-mail copy of the letter, case number, and petition. Thats way everyone has the same case number to share. Maybe nothing comes out of this, but hopefully we'll get some kind of response.

Nevermind, found your previous post regarding transmission woes.
Mine is still running smoothly, <knock on wood> Let me know if there's ever anything similar done for the control arms.

Re: fulliautomatix -> an Asterix & Obelix reader!

Fulliautomatix: the blacksmith and iron-forger in the outrageously funny comic Asterix and Obelix! I guess you are European, to my best knowledge they aren't published in the USA.
By the way: the father of fulliautomatix is .... semi-automatix (and his grandfather would be manuel?)

Original post?
I had my transmission rebuilt about 1-1/2 years ago, for, IIRC, about $3800. '99 A8, at around 95,000.
Transmission had been weak / fading for at least 10k miles before that. Thumping, etc.

Re: Update to AoA Petition: Last Call
I haven't spent any money yet but I know I will be soon....very soon. I haven't been able to drive the car for months. I have been driving my truck because I am scared of what this might cost to get fixed.
