Default warranty--service intervals

Does anybody know what the warranty duration is for the A8 and what are the obligations of the owner to maintain the validity of the warranty? For example if the car isnt returned to the dealer at whatever the prescribed service intervals are, will the warranty be invalidated?

Default Re: warranty--service intervals

The Audi orginal factory warranty period is 3 yrs/50,000 miles from the in service date. This warranty is fully transferable and all scheduled service is free during this time provided it is done at a dealership so there is absolutly no reason not to have scheduled service done by a dealer during the warranty period. The factory warranty can be extended under the Audi Assured program for pre-owned vehicles purchased from an Audi dealer to 5 years/75,000 miles but free service expires at the end of the original factory warranty and there is a $50 deductable per visit, regardless of how many things need to be fixed, for repairs once the Audi Assured extended warranty begins. The 24 hour road side assistance contiues during the Assured extended period also. The Assured warranty is fully transferable as well. Emergency repairs on warrantied items at non Audi dealers are covered under this program as well, provided you can fully document the repairs.
Anyone who does not follow the manufactures guidelines for service runs the risk of voiding their warranty, provided you are not talking about something like changing your oil more frequently than the Audi suggests. Audi will not provide oil changes for free during the factory warranty period at frequencies higher than the manual indicates however. i.e. if you want to change your oil every 3,000 miles you would pay for the oil change at 3,000 and 6,000 miles since Audi indicates this service only needs to be done every 7,500 miles on an A8.
In any event you should read all warranty infomation fully to make sure you have complete knowledge of what is and is not covered by any warranty and what you, as an owner, are obliged to do to maintain your warranty.
