the S8 has an empty weight (Leergewicht) of 1750 Kg, which equals 3858 lbs. This number is the official number from the producer, and is supposed to be including all fluids, not including the driver. The 4000+ number is probably including the driver.
The site does not say anything about weight distribution.

USA Weight distribution
1845 Kg or 4068 lbs are the offical AudiUSA numbers. That inlcudes automatic transmission and all options. Things like sunroof with the solar pannel summer package have to weight at least 100 lbs. one would think.
