Weird lurching in the morning
When my A8 has been sitting overnight, and it is started then put into reverse, the car lurches. This only happens in reverse, and only when the car has been sitting overnight. I'm thinking it must be a problem with the torque converter, but I wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience with their A8.
For now, my wife and I are dealing with it by backing the car into the garage at night, but I want to take care of it before it becomes a major repair issue. Any insight would be most appreciated.

Re: just under 54k
probably has a accumalator going bad/sticking.transmissions make their most pressure in reverse.what makes shifts soft or hard are accumalators.yours is probably sticking.most likely needs a valvebody.now comes a gamble, drop the pan and pray that there's not alot of clutch material in the pan.if so,trans may slip after[unit has a lot of time on it].note;trans is far from cheap, rebuilding is unlikely,as parts aren't available.
