Default What are the tell tell signs that your control arms need to be replaced?

Just curious because I've got a slight vibration I can feel in the steering wheel and I'm not certain what it is from. I've had the wheels rebalanced and no change was noticed. I'm going to put on a different set of wheels to see if it goes away.

Should I consider the control arms as a possible suspect before getting an alignment done (which will be my next step)?

TIA,

Justin

Default Bad Control arms=clunking sound. Bad Tie rod ends=wandering/tramlining

Vibration most likely wheel/tire balance, bent wheel (can't balance that out), or drive dhaft.

If it's a wobble, then it's something that's rotating that's the culprit.

I would add - upper CA's usually clunk, on the lowers it's often a squeak/groan.

Default I've got an audible 'click' up there as come to stop - going in next week will report back.

Slight shimmy in wheel, but VERY slight.

Default Thanks all...from what you described mine must be either a bent wheel or in need of an alignment.

Thanks again for the insight.
