Default what's a good price to pay for a Timing Belt service and a 75K tune-up service

since my car is now 7yrs old and 75k miles, i'm thinking it's time to get a timing belt replacement (although that is usually done at 90k, but factoring in the age of the car it might be the time)

what i want to know is the average prices people paid for:
---- the timing belt replacement
---- 75k/90k tune-up/major service

how many people or dealers do both together and give a discount as such.

thanks

Default fwiw, 1999 A8q belt service is 105K miles.

courtesy of most up to date Audi maint chart for 1999.

EDIT: LOL that's hilarious .. I just noticed that JimR answered the same exact question and used "FWIW" too. JimR .. the PDF for 1999 shows 105K. **ribbed** belt (accessory drive) is 75K miles.

Bentley 1999 Service Schedule

Default althought it says replace TB @ 105k miles, should the age of the car also dictate TB replacement

at what age, regardless of miles, should the timing belt be replaced?

Default FYI, the 75k miles figure is directly from ETKA 6.0x

Go to plate 109-90, "Toothed Belt, 8 cylinder ABZ (and a bunch of other engine codes)"

Part Number: 077 010 138 B
Description:: Sticker "Attention - Change the toothed belt every 120 000 KM / 75 000 M"

By the way, I agree, what Bentley is showing on those Audi maintenance *.pdfs is directly counter to this.

Default There's also the climate issue.

An almost always garaged car in Atlanta is different from an ungaraged car in New England, say. Cold temps are tougher on the polymers, typically.
