I was looking at a 1998 A8 and another 2001 A8 today and it appears that the interiors are identical, does anyone know if that's true? I was thinking of putting the 1998 door panels on my 2001.

This is 98 interior,to me it looks the same as my 02 except radio comands.

You have PFL comfort seats in a 2002 S8 ... no cost option where they used up old stock, rather than the updated and more comfortable FL A8 seats.

I guess removable parts are interchangeable, but FL & PFL "identical" at a glance isn't my take .... Different seats, different armrests, different instrument cluster, different center dash (all switches top to bottom, all controls and radio), different rearview, etc...

So, at a glance, basic "shape" yes, but 75% of what you see when you look inside is quite different ... BUT part numbers are all that matter when swap in different parts.

I like how comfy my seats are but id like to see an opinion of somebody who had all 3 seats long term.I liked sport seats when i did a test drive but didnt have them long term.
