ZF Valve body rebuild
Well, Not our 5HP24 units perhaps, but some pretty spiffy service, and the photos are good quality.
Cheers

I was going to say: simply awesome
I suspect the people working in this facility underwent years of technical training under an apprenticeship track, in a culture placing more value on hands-on work, or at least, not denigrating it.

There are a couple of things that I like in the BMW unit better.
It is lighter. The exhaust is not in the way. There is an inspection hole on the bottom of the bell housing, so you can take the TC bolts out without removing sub frame-engine mount-starter. The filter has a bigger pickup pipe opening. The plate, that holds the solenoids is wider/lower. It goes down to the bottom of the pan and works as a baffle. The input speed sensor is removable without taking the VB out. That ball is either plastic or steel depends on the year and it is a check valve for reverse to stop back flow.

Vavle bodies
From the post, it seems like all of the problems were with the valve body. Is this usually true on the A8 as well? Would it then be worth just shipping the valve bodies to the same company for rebuild?
