Start-Up / Cranking
I am trying to learn the quirks of the 2007 S8 that I recently purchased. I noticed that when I start it up, it generally takes 2-3 seconds after turning the ignition for the cranking to catch. I'm curious if this type of moderate delay is typical of the vehicle, or if may be an issue with my car.
Thank you.
Thank you.

The sensor is cheap, I bought it online genuine for around $100US.

Search the forum as there are several examples of the failure modes of the rpm/crankshaft sensor.
Having the vcds diagnostic cable and pc with the software is almost mandatory with these cars.
