Default 05 A8L 4.2 questions - close to pulling the trigger

Great forum, lots of great info - looking forward to driving one of these beasts away shortly!

1. Do the '05s come with rain sensing wipers? Audi site, brochure and salesman say 'no.' This forum suggests 'yes.' Really like that feature on my MB's.

2. What I'm looking for is Black/Black, Convenience, CWP, Parktronic, 18's (either, leaning 9 spoke), door closers. Don't want the wood wheel or solar sunroof. How hard is it to find such a car with these options only?

3. Dealer offering lease at 2K off MSRP and 60% residual if we get the deal done this week. Sounds like a good deal to me - passed on the '04 because the residual was 48%, making payments equal or higher than an '05 even with 10K off MSRP on the '04. Good deal?

Default Rain sensors

Just drove my new '05 from Fort Lauderdale to NW Indiana. Experienced some heavy rain north of Atlanta. Rain sensor wipers worked very well! The speed varied depending on how much rain is coming down.

PULL THE TRIGGER!

Default you need to also think whether there is any chance you will excercise buy out option...

...if so then the 04 might be a good deal; if little likelyhood that you will exercise option then all you should really care about it the monthly payment so the 05 would be the one to get.

Just my $0.02

Default considering the maintenance and repair costs outside of warranty...

would anyone exercise their lease buy-out? This is a question I have to seriously consider since I already put 8k miles on a car I picked up in July this year.

As drgolfnut suggests, I personally wouldn't even think about owning one of these high-end, high-tech cars past the free maintenance/full warranty period, so there's zero chance I would buy the car at EOL.

I would never exercise buy out. Every car I have ever leased (a bunch of them) they always call me a year before lease end and offer me a new car if I sign a new 3 year lease.

Besides you don't want to keep it past warranty.

Default $2k off a A8L is a hell of a deal!!

Depending where you live.
Here in the DFW area our dealership sells a lot of A8.
I would say that 90% of our clients do the lease.

And yes the 2005 A8/ A8L come with rain sensing wipers.

I'd reconsider the wood wheel as I believe it's the only way to get transmission shift paddles. I have it and they are really quite good - Much, much better than the Cayenne I traded on A8. You'll love the car. Good Luck

Rethink the wood wheel - it's the only way to get the transmission paddles - and they are AWESOME...much better than on the Cayenne that I traded. Good luck.
