06-07 Front clip on a 04-05
Hey guys, I havent posted here much but have been reading for as long as I can remember and I need help. I am searching for an 04-05 A8L to replace the newly totaled 00' but I really love the look of the 06-07 with the huge grill. Is the 06-07 front clip(bumper, grill) a direct bolt on? If not what has to be done? Are the headlights different? Basically what do I need to convert a 04-05 front end to the face lifted ones? Thanks much

STFA - Der kimbo answered this ? a while back
Your choices are to use a kit from an aftermarket supplier or buy all the original parts from your dealer. Der Kimbo and potentially others have already done the research on using factory parts and labor.

Call this place as they don't have D3 A8's listed on the site, but they have or can get the kits. He managed a Audi dealer parts department for several years before starting up this web based operation. Seems like truly nice people to seal with.

I have personally, totally by accident visited this place as he is located in the same industrial park near one of the Bally field offices.

Once the car is out of warranty it doesn't matter if you use aftermarket vs. OEM front facia parts as they look the same from any distance. Since the resale value is dropping by over $50 per day for the first couple of years and then $20/day the next few on these vehicles, who cares about how much you are "hurting" the resale value by using non-OEM parts? You are considering the mods for your enjoyment. May as well get the best value unless money is no object for you.
