Default Audi A8 reliability - better stats

I wanted more up-to-date car reliability information that included actual repair rates. So in late 2005 I started getting people together to make this possible. TrueDelta now updates actual repair frequencies, not just dots, four times a year, to track cars closely as they age.

Thanks to JET and AW's assistance, we're already providing results for the A3, A4, A6, Q5, Q7, and TT. I'd like to do the same for the A8. Just a matter of getting enough owners involved.

Participants simply report repairs the month after they occur on a one-page survey. When there are no repairs, they simply report an approximate odometer reading four times a year, at the end of each quarter.

To encourage participation, participants receive full access to all results, not just those for the A8, for free. I'll share results in this thread after each update.

For the details, and to help get the A8 into the survey:

51 A8 owners now signed up. A good start, but more remain needed to get the A8 included in the survey.

Not yet signed up? Details here:

The 2004 is now over halfway, and other years are also closer.

Thank you, Nick, I certainly appreciate it.

The 2004 is now 2/3 of the way, and the 2005-2007 are all about halfway.

88 A8 owners now signed up. The 2004 is only six cars short of the number needed to get started, and the 2005 and 2006 are about 2/3 of the way.

Any individual buying an Audi should know it most definitely will not be the most reliable on the road, but this site sure does help. We just need help getting it available to the searching consumer.

I obviously cannot speak for the A8 yet, but recent years of some other Audi models seem much better.

With the A4, there's a huge improvement going from the B6 to the B7, and aside from a common problem with the front suspension early on the B8 also seems to be doing quite well.

The D3 A8 was designed before the shift, but it's possible they improved it mid-way through the run. I'd certainly like to find out.

The number of owners signed up so far:

2004: 20

2005: 17

2006: 21

2008: 12

I start a year in the survey when it reaches 25, so the 2004 and 2006 are getting close.
