Default 2004 A8 bluetooth

Is there a way for me to integrate my I Phone with the cars built in handsfree system? I do not have a v60 nor do I want to purchase one. Having the technology in my car and not using it seems like a big waste.

If your A8 has bluetooth phone preparation then yes.

After you turn on the car, try to pair the iPhone - you have about a minute while the system is "visible".
You will see a device like Audi XXX, default pin is 1234

This will not stream music.
AMI and a bluetooth dongle is required for that.

Default Post title says 2004...no bluetooth then...

not until the mid 2005's in the U.S. Said another way for the O.P., if you have an OnStar button that no longer does anything, you don't have bluetooth.

You can search the archives for retrofit alternatives, or I'll let the many w/ 2004's comment.

You Sir are correct, my 04 A8L had gonestar and phone cradle in console, but from my understanding the cradle was for a specific phone make and model, as none of my phones would pair, now my 05 has oem BT.

Had to replace air suspension pump and the air suspension bag on right front. Total cost: $3400

2004's didn't have it. You have the now defunct Onstar system as others mentioned. There is a way to add it though. I bought my stock module from a local guy that was selling them on eBay for awhile. I can't find his retrofit kit any more but it was only $400 at the time and it's the stock kit.

It's not difficult to install but it is tedious. You need to run two fiber optic cables from the glove compartment to under and just in front of the driver's seat, then take all the wires out of the Onstar harness and individually put them into the new harness.

I think the physical install took about two hours. Even still, the stock system blows away ANYTHING aftermarket you'll get. I had the dension bluetooth dongle and it was such a half-assed way of doing things that I wondered how they even brought it to market.

can you please direct to where to get this module?

all i am finding are hodge-podge work arounds with fm radio hard wired, which i am not even sure would work on a 2004 audi a8l radio.

The module to buy is called 4E0862335.

You will need the plug that goes into it also.

With my car, I simply took out the Motorola phone module, put 6 pins in the new plug and then plugged the module in. It worked first time and continues to work.
