2005 MMI phone integration
My Audi advocate (for the 2005 A8 I'm supposed to be taking delivery of in early July) just told me that there would be Bluetooth phone integration on all 2005 A8s, though she was unsure whether or not you'd be able to scroll through your address book. The system should work with any bluetooth phone, she said. No need to buy anything from Audi; "i.e., Audi wanted to get out of the phone business."

Linked to new MMI telephone interface
Over here, there's been an option since launch of a fully integrated GSM carphone, with it's own SIM card, and an optional Bluetooth privacy handset.
Now they've released a mobile phone prep (I think the development work got done for new A6) that can hook your existing phone into a cradle and read it's SIM and address book data and use it via MMI (Merc have had a similar system for a while now). I've heard that they would develop a Bluetooth version as well.
Personally, I'd prefer the cradle option as it will charge the phone - with a 6310i I can run for three/four days while away on business, and the RS 6 provides power twice a day when I'm in the office. I don't think I even know where my mains charger went to...
