With my D2 I got about 15 more miles on a tank of gas. Not a big deal. I got about 20 miles on my 1994 Q45 back in the day. I don't know about the W12 mileage improvement if any since I put them in since I've owned the car.
I don't see any science that would support that efficiency gain on a fuel injection engine. A bit less intake resistance is compensated by a bit more resistance in the throttle body (less pedal) for the same power request. Only difference comes under full throttle and it is minor. Not even close to 20 HP. You can do your own experiment. Time 0-60 with stock filter and with no filter. I bet you won't be able to measure any difference (except noise difference). That includes all in between.
