Default 2008 Audi A8

I just got an 2008 Audi A8. It has an old style I phone cradle and I have a newer Android. My question is how do I get the Bluetooth to work with my new Android?

Welcome. Search here or on YouTube for much info or videos on pairing phone. Or, in the basic manuals for the car. Cradle is useless but has nothing to do with pairing anyway.

Also to be clear, you end up with "phone" (call) hands free bluetooth, not streaming music type (A2DP) bluetooth. For the latter, you need either some kind of aftermarket product or a combination of Audi AMI (MP3/iPhone, etc) and a hard to find A2DP dongle for it.

I'm curious as to what the MMI screen displays when the OEM bluetooth adapter is in use? I am about to replace my BT module and want to add some type of bluetooth adapter at the same time.

It's been a while, but IIRC just very basic track info; also very basic control over unit to where you are likely to still touch player device for controls--more distracting and then often a hands free bust. Remember it has to be on top of AMI, and you get a lot more track info with AMI. Also testing same track and source back to back for bluetooth vs. hard cable, both into AMI, hard cable was definitely a lot better fidelity wise, and very close to full source original CD from which I dupped the tracks.

Get this tune2air viseeousa WMA3000A which plugs to AMI port. Streams music wirelessly, auto connect the phone whenever you're in the car. I have mine which works flawlessly, I can say that sound quality is excellent.

For what it's worth, I had the WMA3000 and couldn't get it to work. I ended up swapping it out for the WMA1000 and it works perfectly.
