Little hard to say but estimating about 18 total from undoing thefirst coolant hose to wheeling the engine out, manority of work was 6 hrs on last sat and sun, then another 2.5 mon, tues, and thurs.
That was just to get it out

How to remove the exhaust manifolds from your 5.2 BSM Engine:
I also go over some cool features of the engine that are visible with these items removed.

For those of us w/ out S8, is there an abridged version of principal focus areas? In particular, I wonder if you had the same upper pan/oil galley leak that another member had on an S8 several years ago now: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a8-...-leak-2877646/ That would be (unfortunately) logical for the engine pull both of you have encountered.

WHat the heck is the red stuff in the rear timing cover coolant ports? ATF?? Its in both ports. Drained coolant looked clean.
Btw coolant is green because i put dye in it. Its g13

Only arguably even close to orange or reddish color fluid in a newer Audi that I can think of is coolant. ATF would be gold to start, or blue for W12 or green if ZF8 is used instead of blue. But all the ATF's basically go to dull deep grey as they accumulate miles. Could it be coolant that was essentially trapped by a seal and only released on disassembly--and thus didn't get the green dye intermixed yet?
