Funny. I did the exact same thing on my w12

Has anyone here ever tried to make a claim on a tire mileage warranty. Totally useless. Replacement tire is sold at full list (a scam right there that makes the warranty useless) and then pro-rated. Since mileage is usually "missed" by 5 or 10k miles a new tire sold at the normal "discount" price is way cheaper than the wearout "warranty" replacement cost.

I've gotten reimbursed on my last two sets for the previous set not meeting the mileage warranty. I got $60-$70 a tire for not meeting the warranty. One on a set of Michelin pilot sports, and the other on continental dws

Rather than millage warranty I would call it loyalty discount. Nobody can warrant ones alignment, tire pressure or drifting habits, but if few bucks of discount can make him loyal customer it would be well spent money.

Default +1 Days of Yore...

My dad used to get the warranty adjustment on his Monkey Wards tires (literally) on his 63 Rambler Ambassador and then the 63 Olds Holiday 88. With the 455 and the Carter AFB in the Olds and the 20 feet from stem to stern, he got quite a few "adjustments." He was always happy, and where he always took it for usual repairs. Even the building got plowed under about 25 years ago...

Actually later, a place called 4Day Tire used to do it in the Bay Area; kind of a predecessor idea to TireRack, except they use huge weekly newspaper ads listing all the sizes. My old C1 was so light though it used to actually get the mileage on the Semperits I then ran. Tire shop I use for wheel work and alignments and such sells a lot of Cooper brand tires and still does it. I saw a big stack of worn tires just last week when I got a TPMS changed out that said "ADJ" in grease pencil. Needless to say, an Audi or most anything Euro is not hard to find there and in "that part of town" among the sea of American body on frame iron and newer appliance vehicles. And of course, they get lots of apparent business selling front end parts, brakes, routine service, etc. as needed.

Totally great combination, i drove the car from Vilnius in Lithuania to Tallin in estonia, 600km of **** roads. Was able to pull incredible speeds on harsh roads with the car, without having to fear for the rims. With 30% wheels the same trip would have taken hours longer, because of the really bad roads. The speedo is a bit off tough, shows 1-3km/h too small readings compared to GPS.

I wonder if the speedo is adjustable By VCDS or Audi VAS?
Hi! (First post here)

I am new with my A8 W12 here in Sweden. I am looking towards getting a new set of 20" wheels. I have 19's on right now, (Original W12 rims and a bit damaged). I am curious about the dimension of the original alloys, fitting 275/35/20 tires? Is it 20x8,5/20x9/20x9,5/20x10?

Best regards, J.

Welcome to a fellow W12'er.

OE is 20 x 9, ET46. Applies to any D3 wheel in OE 20, whether 4.2, 6.0, S8, etc. A8 ones are forged, the S8 ones are cast.

As MP said + newer 20's, also forged with 37 mm offset can be easier to find. 9 mm lesser offset push wheels that much out improving aesthetics.

Thanks guys!
I am gonna go through the market here and see if I can find the right offset. With 20x9 and ET45 there are some nice alloys out there. Going with ET37 for aesthetics sounds just like something I would do. I will check it out! Thanks again guys. This forum is going to be worth alot to me.

Best regards, J.
