Default Need code advice

Currently have an 04 D3 with air adaptive system. Problem is low front end and code 01583. States Leak in system detected. A Physical test determined that both front air shocks were indeed leaking. Problem is extended Warranty company states that they will only cover the left side as that is what the code says. We replaced the left side, and again the right side would not raise, pump stopped to do overheat shut off. Ran a code and still get the same 01583 code. Left side now good with new air strut .It does not tell us which side just that it is in the front. Is there a code for left and right. My car has been in the shop due to the warranty company not wanting to pay for the right side and the repair is not completed because of the right side being defective. Any advice would be appreciated.

It does not tell you by code down to the individual corner AFAIK. You do it visually. Get it raised, put in jack mode and then leave it to sit on a level surface. You have to watch it very carefully since general weight and the roll bar cause both sides to sink even if only one bad. The one that sinks as little as half an inch or so more quickly is the leaker.

Thanks. My mechanic already did the phyical check after installing the left new airbag. After setting the car back down and having the pump fill the system, Air bubbles were present on the right air strut. After clearing the codes the same code re appeared.

It seems to me if you can get a camera phone pic showing the soapy air bubbles, that will be pretty easy proof for warranty company to get on with it.

That’s exactly what we did, once the pictures were sent , the warranty company agreed and paid for their portion. It was still quite costly but it’s all fixed as far as the suspension is concerned. Thank you all for your input.
