Yes, I've read that through tens of times, and that's where i got the inspiration for the job. Would just like to know for sure what the right pinout is, instead of taking my friend's a8 bumper apart, who has aac from the factory.

Tested my ACC radar today in my friend's factory ACC 4.0TDI 2005. The unit worked, and was detected and could be diagnosed with the VAS5054A tester.

Paid 120euros for the unit, NOT a bad deal

My friend's car had this pinout for the ACC radar behind the front bumper:

1. Brown (-)
2. Orange/violet (CAN-H to J533 Diag interface pin13)
4. Orange/gray (CAN-L to J533 Diag interface pin26)
6. Green/Gray (some useless K-line diag to under the left dash)
11. Red/Green (some useless diag to under the left dash)
12. Blue (+12v from fuse 17)

So it's just me who has wired the radar the wrong way, or then my gateway ending F hasn't got the same pinout as the H and A ending gateways. The F gateway IS a ACC gateway, as it gives a "acc missing" DTC all the time that my NON ACC "B" gateway didn't give.

Now to get an wide-instrument cluster, and rape the glovebox another time to rewire the J533.

Hi, last week I tried to retrofit the ACC to my A8 4.2 TDI (*2008).

Mounted the radar & grille, swapped the ACC stick, cluster and Gateway.

Connected the following pins :


1. Brown (-12V)
2. Orange/violet (CAN-H pin 13 gateway)
4. Orange/gray (CAN-L pin 26 gateway)
12. Red Terminal 15 (+12V) ignition

I went to the AUDI workshop in order to remove the CP lock.
After that we did the necessary coding on Engine, Instrument cluster, MMI and Steering wheel.

CONTROLLER 01 Engine

Then we went for a test drive.

Hello mmi.drachten,

I believe that you must change the cab-bus gateway to a "H", I have read that some have had the same gateway as you listed, and were able to check ACC box in the installation list along with coding same, but ended up with it not working until they replaced the gateway with the latest version "H" below are the versions and what they support, yours looks to only support "8T1" CCS for the A8, not "8T4" ACC, although it supports "8T4" ACC in the A6 and Q7, but not A8.

Being a 4.2 tdi i am wondering if it's a dual Ecu car and need to code both 01 and 11

4,2TDI (and 4,0TDI) and V10, W12 are all dual-ecu cars, both engine control units must be coded the same!

V6 (gas or TDI) and V8 gasoline are single ECU engines, no need for dual coding there.
