AC acting weird...
So my wife and I are driving home in separate cars from our boys house 2 hours away- I thought I'd let her drive the big comfortable car ('06 A8 sport SWB) and I drove her Mini Cooper S (which we love). She took the interstate and I took the back roads. She calls me on the cell and says the AC isn't working- econ is off she has it on 62 and it's blowing luke warm air. Outside temp is 90 and humid...of course the Mini is nice and cool but I don't tell her that! The A8 had worked fine that morning when I drove it. I get home and drive it- lukewarm air even with it set at LO- hell, it should be coming out as ice at that setting- I turn the temp up to around 70 and it seems to get COLDER! WTF??? I hate trips to the dealer as I get the idea they have NO idea what they're doing half the time...

Probably a flap that is stuck. PITA to get at some of them. Run VAG diagnostics and it will probably tell you where the problem is. That's what the dealer will do, charge you .5 *time units* and then estimate how many more *time units* it will be to repair. Plus parts. Don't forget *shop supplies* such as rags, cleaners, solvents etc.
This is why I choose to do it myself. I hate being at the mercy of others.

Sounds like a coil freezing up. High humidity and low refrigerant can cause a coil to freeze. After sitting a while the coil will unfreeze and allow air to flow thru the coil. I had a truck that did the same thing.
