Added softclose door on my Audi A8 2003
Hi
I have always wanted to softclose door on my car. So here is my tutorial, how to added. All parts come from ebay (original-used) and was quite cheap. All system is "Plug&Play"
List of ingredients for one door:
Door power latch (for example left front door 4E1837015C) and engine (4E0837059)
Door unit (with window engine)
Led light for exterior door handle and connector(4E0949137)
New clip for door trim (can use old one if they ok)
Six and two pin connector (haven´t pic of two pin)
my home made tutorial :-D
some of old wiring
need to pin some wire (example how to do it on connector C)
and connector D
Door unit (connectors)
New six pin connector (for engine) have just tree wire = D1 from door unit connect with sixth pin of connector. D6 door unit to fifth connector. D7 to fourth.
New two pin connector (for power latch) = C11 to first. C9 to second. (C9 on door unit is allready used! So just connect wire together on that pin)
New two pin connector (led light for door handle) = C1 to second. C9 to first
In Vagcom is necessary to change coding of door unit. You need to be added 4096 for softclose and 8 for exterier door light.
Assembly:
take off wood panel (start from arrow!)
2x screw and take out whole door trim (from below)
remove two rubber plug and open the window until you see the screw. (already without screw)
remove cable (1) of handle and connector (2) A from door unit
Unscrew both of window screw. Now by hand push glass up.
Remove all clips, wiring and screw
Remove whole door panel (from below) (how you can see, glass is up)
Remove plastic cover of latch
1)detach stick 2)disconnect connector
Remove plug
Thru plug poke Allen key to remove door handle
Remove both screw of door latch and take old latch out. (watch out wiring)
new led light for handle
To the door panel you need to dril in three holes (1,2,3) for engine. And one little more bigger for cable (4)
And now just everything move same way back And repeat for the remaining doors

Amazing write-up, thanks for sharing! This will definitely be very helpful to a lot of us. I'll probably end up using it to fix the non functioning soft close feature on both of my front doors.
