Why is it so complicated, I didn't have to do anything with vcds. Either it works or it doesn't. Don't mess up the car because you're hitting the wrong tree.
The MOST bus should read the tv tuner and add to the menu if all the condition is met, i.e. The Fbas required since it has video out?

Hello Louis,

You are correct, it should not be this complicated, I am only try to give Target39 every option, he did state the he wired to pin #14, which is blank, BUT at the same time I think even if he just wired pins 1, 2, and 3 along with the MOST connection that the MMI would see the installed TV tuner and allow him to see it as a selection along with CD, TV, A/V-1 and A/V-2, BUT as I sit here thinking I feel that you and me along with some others had always swapped out the MMI CH or added the FBAS into said MMI and ran the FBAS cable back to the TV Tuner before firing up the TV Tuner for testing, so MAYBE target39's MMI CH is not allowing the TV Tuner to be displayed as a source because the MMI CH does not have the FBAS (video) input...

I know I recoded my TV Tuner from 0000301 (A6, Europe) to 0000006 (A8, NA) .

GG ,
One more thing, did you have the tv tuner working before you add your rvc? Because the can gateway had to be changed to support rvc and that may be the problem.
I still don't buy that you need Fbas because in 2003, no cars have rvc or they already have the "A" head unit.

Yes I did have the TV Tuner installed and up and running WITHOUT the OEM RVC module or OEM camera, I had an aftermarket sony RVC hooked into the TV Tuners A/V-2 input, along with the original CAN-BUS module, BUT at the same time of adding the TV Tuner, I switched out the MMI CH with a MMI CH "A" with FBAS, it was later on that I switched out to the OEM Q7 RVC, RVC module in trunk, and the matching CAN-BUS for RVC & ACC.

Yes RVC did not come out until 2007 in NA, BUT no 2004-06 in the USA had the "A" MMI CH with FBAS that I ever saw, the FBAS input on the MMI CH came about for the RVC in NA. that is if I follow correctly what you meant....

Most of tv tuners we buy are from 03-04 cars from Europe. So I think we don't need the upgrade CAN gateway and Fbas for TV tuner to work.

Yes Louis, and that is the point, the analog TV Tuner was from a 2004, the digital hy-brid I purchased second was from an 05, BUT both those vehicles in Europe had the MMI CH with the "A" designation to go along with said TV tuner or RVC, remember that the TVT sends its video signal by way of the FBAS to the MMI CH, so it is possible that the MMI CH needs to see video signal, or that the MMI CH must be the "A" model, now you yourself added all those circuits to your MMI CH.

I unplugged the video cable and it still worked, so it doesn't need the video signals. The circuit was added, so the ID of my head unit is still NO "A".. I think his unit is broken. Btw, I've never had antenna errors in my vcds because I never had to add it in.

Cheers,
Louis
PS: GG, where is the "B" video?

However, when I press the CD/TV button and then the top right corner button for Sources, only CD shows up. No TV, nor External AV1/AV2. I also went into 07-Control Head -> Installation List and added 57-TV Tuner manually via checkbox and long coding. I was running on 0600 software, so I updated to 4610 via bootloader and the same issue persists.

When going into 57-TV Tuner, there are 5 fault codes present: four for each of the antennas (not connected), and one for the video FBAS output (not connected). Therefore, I believe the unit itself is in otherwise normal operating condition. Radio also plays fine, so there is no breakage of the MOST ring via the newly installed TV tuner.

How can I get the TV tuner's external inputs to show up?
Hello target39, have you been able to resolve your issue with AV1 & AV2 not available in MMI as sources?
I have exactly the same issue and don't know what to do, I tried all coding options in tv tuner, headunit and can gateway modules.
I suspect I have an old version of CAN Gateway module, nevertheless in gateway I can see and select TV Tuner as installed, so can gate is aware to a certain extend of a tv tuner possibility.

For the sake of history: I managed to resolve my issue with missing TV, AV1, AV2 sources by installing an FBAS HU. Additional sources appeared immediately after without any coding.
