I wonder if anyone can help, I had to remove my glove box and since I have done this I have dtc 1128 which is permanent ie when I reset it comes back and blames the passenger side airbag switch, the panel light for passenger airbag disabled is constantly flashing on and off also. I have checked the switch which just presents a resistance and compared it to known good - the switch is good. I cannot find the wiring anywhere for the switch and I have a lot of Audio diagrams. The crazy thing is that when I look at the connector on top of the glove box the switch cables done pass through it so must be spliced in the loom somewhere? I also wonder if the code is cuased by another reasonn such as passenger airbag connection and not the switch although VCDS only gets the DTC 1228 airbag switch error.

Disable the airbag switch coding. Do you have an airbag switch?? See my airbag on off switch retrofit. (Q5 but have a read). You got no replies so trying to help out.
