Default Arnott industries vs. ? front struts

2009 Audi S8 Shock Absorber With Sport Suspension - Air Shock - Front Left 75-00093 AI

Ok. I think we are all in agreement when it comes to replacing the front struts at one time or another, Arnott, or factory Audi if you have the $$
I came across these in the above website. They are touted as being "new arnott industries" and comes with 1 year warranty. Wth? It doesnt even look like the strut in the Arnott website. Plus Arnott comes with lifetime warranty.
Has anyone experienced these struts or should I not even waste my time with these?
I'd hate to be the guinea pig.

Hi Chris,

BuyAutoParts.com does sell Arnott air suspension replacement products Resellers set their own warranty policy and since we go through the reseller on warranty claims it is a factor customers should take into consideration with regards to where they buy Arnott parts.

With that said, that is not a current Arnott picture for the Arnott Remanufactured Front Audi Strut. We changed the design in April so it may just be an older picture that they took (in other words they did not use our supplied picture). To be safe I'd ask them to drop ship an Arnott part from our facility (if the warranty doesn't bother you).

Arnott has lifetime warranty on their struts if you buy from them. That's what I did with the W12 and I had no issues with it whatsoever. Shipping was quick and it looked like a nice quality product, very clean and completely refinished. Honestly a strut is a strut and outside of Arnott I don't know of any others. I'd just go with them as they are the most popular one. Spend the little bit extra on the real arnott straight from them. Pass on the OEM as it doesn't have nearly as long of a warranty and you'd never notice the difference.

I know and understand that but I didn't notice a single difference inbetween a OEM working strut vs the arnott.

Also:
Arnott lifetime warranty vs. OEM short 1 year warranty
Arnott $700 after core charge. vs OEM $2000-$2200

You are right. Performance of two very used shock absorbers are probably similar. So, cheap way to fix immediate problem is to replace just a broken strut with one of a similar performance.

With all due respect I think that life time warranty on any machine or part is of a questionable value.

New strut is $1,499.77.
