assault by warning bells. Anyone know how to shut them off?
Have 2005 A8L. Love the car except for the irritating - even aggressive - warning bells and horns. Key in ignition (car in Park) the seatbelt bell goes off. Open a door (in Park) a horn sounds. Do both you get assaulted in stereo. Use the keyless system, shut down the car, a bell reminds you to lock the steering etc etc. It drives me nuts! Does anyone know of a software (or other fix) that could de-activate these irritating noises? Dealer says they know of no fix. Can anyone help? I'd imaging this must be a common complaint.
Thanks!!!

All you need is the vagcom software, it's a DIY project!

Indeed, I've VAG'd away many of the annoying warnings. Only one I haven't yet been able to solve: "Use the keyless system, shut down the car, a bell reminds you to lock the steering". Anybody found a way to shut this one off?
This is for an 05 with the "convenience package" feature that lets you start the ignition without actually having the key in the dash, so long as the key is somewhere inside the car.

Awesome company, well worth the money. You can go the cheaper route, go searching on the forum for the vag locater list. You'll find a list of people who have vag-com who might be able to help you. Do keep in mind they will need the latest and greatest vag-com cable to work with the A8.

http://www.ross-tech.com</a
