Possible? Yes.
Y is it not going up? The sensor could be bad. That's why. Is it bad? I don't know. A wire going to it could be broken. The linkage between the sensor and the body/frame could be broken/missing. As the sticky says, you need vcds interface and software to test. Use standard troubleshooting techniques to visibly look for broken parts and wires. As far as which sensor, there are four. Vcds scan would tell you which one if a sensor is the problem.

This is what happened to me. I had a faulty sensor and 2 bad plugs that were filled with mud and corroded wiring. This also revealed a leaking strut. I replaced mine with a rebuilt ebay strut for 266$ US. You really need VCDS to check the measuring blocks of the sensors and to look at the trouble codes.

Good luck. It's not a bad system and is pretty logical. Complex but logical.

Thanks for the info Sumitradio,
I have read the Sticky and duly noted.
I am not the kind of person that would be comfortable carrying out any work on the car myself, not exactly my line of work.
i will get it into the dealer and onto the computer to see what is what.

From reading through the treads i suspect drivers side suspension is leaking (but i cant hear anything) or faulty compressor.

Reaches for the credit card and cringes.

Default suspension problems

Good morning folks,
So i have had a mechanic come out with his box of tricks, Plug it in to the car and the first error was that the suspension was leaking.
then a few minutes later a whole load more errors follow, suspension too low, compressor overheated and so on.

Now i need to get it to the garage, anybody any advice on how i can get the car raised back into a driving position or is this a recovery truck job?

Regards

Gerry

If it won't hold air, it won't stay up under any circumstance to drive it. Call a tow truck.
