The sense of entitlement by some people is amazing. Even if the keys were in the car itself; it is not your car to take. It is felony theft.
That said, the dealer is stupid for leaving key fobs laying around.

No alarm at that dealership? They found key fobs and replacement batteries in a few minutes? I think insurance will ask them all right questions.

Same thing happened much bigger here at 3 Merc dealerships
Almost two dozen cars stolen. They just got to the key box and had a field day. Worse, in general they were customer cars in for service.

And the dealership didn't have an alarm system to call the police? Now a days most businesses and homeowners have that, at least where I live. From the article it sounds like the thieves just kept coming back throughout the day.
