Audi A8 D3 steering column
Hi all.

What do you mean? How can i check it?
When i do the so called factory reset then in and out. In between in makes a clicking noise like it cant go up and down. There is the code 01 but if i change it 02 then it show some error.
Even after i do the factory reset it wont let me move it with the buttons.

When I say presets, I refer to the memory seating positions. Steering wheel position is included in that. I also believe the small button behind the adjustment **** controls the function that moves the steering wheel out of the way when you go to get out of the car. If with neither of these the steering wheel moves up or down, I suspect either a fault with the column motor or wiring. If they do move it, then the switch on the column is suspect.

Okey. now i understand what u mean. well previous owner told me he changed the buttons and it helped a liddle but eventualy it stoped working. when i leave the car the column wont move in eather position the switch is. i can't even move it myself. i think i try new buttons from another D3 and if it wont help then i think new column is needed.
if it needs replacement , is it difficult 2 do it myself? havent done thats sort of thing before.
btw ty for youre help
