i've had zero problems...with a whopping 6K miles so far...Mr. Greenie, have you driven a 335
xi yet? BMW came out with a 335xi coupe.

Are you asking for me to send it to you or how you can get your own copy? The directions for installing the upgrade are linked below. I included all the info that I did to complete the upgrade about in the thread below this one. I didn't trust the dealership near me and didn't want to drive 1.5hr away to another dealer. It's both--mirrors and headrests
It's obvious when I cycle from my C5 A6 to my A8 back to back--on the 4.2 they got them nicely integrated into the upper seatback. D3 is worse than the visibility problems in my solid headrest C4 with its stubby passenger side mirror like the D2's, or my open headrest C3.
They designed an art and wind tunnel object instead of a functional mirror. Huge housing for a modest amount of glass. And the teardrop curve in the outer upper corner cuts out a crucial area that would give better visibility.
I'll add a new one to my mods list post on this.

And the mirror mod...
1. Discontinue search on ebay.de for "außenspiegel audi a8" for now. I can find the whole housing easily, but not just the glass at a good price.
2. Check Audi.de and Audi.com (the world site) once the 2008 info is up to see if there is a non lane-change version of the new mirror design. I expect there will be.
3. Wait for the inevitable posts on ebay.de (or ebay.co.uk) for mirror assemblies from the 2008's and later once some get wrecked. Today, you can already buy Euro mirrors in housings in many color choices for the existing D3 design for about 100 Euro plus shipping.

This one by 10 to 1. The design and exterior styling is preferred in the Asian markets.

They updated audiusa.com. It now has the 2008 model year showing and same on the configurator. I noticed they did a poor job of checking things before updating the site. The S6 page shows an S8 video. The S6 configurator does not show the 18" wheel option.
