Audi Customer Advocate - LONG
I called Audi USA today and was pleased to find that we A8 folks have a dedicated group to voice our concerns to.
The reasons for my phone call were the following:
I did a CPO lease and have had squealing brakes ever since I've had the car...I took it to the dealer for the 3rd time today and was told that it is because of the "tire protectant" that I use...Now I'm NOT stupid...Having owned 2 other Audis, a Mercedes, and a Porsche, I've NEVER had these problems. I detail my cars myself and use great products. My service manager is usually great, but this really made me mad.
To add to that, I was looking at the Audi USA website today and found a "Wear & Use Policy"
online. I looked it over and it really worried me. When I took delivery of my car, the wheels had some curb rash and the back bumper had some chips in it. When I asked the salesman about it, he said "No problem, it will be taken care of when you turn the car in..." But looking at past posts, I'm worried that it will cost me some $$$ at lease turn in. Also, I never received a first aid kit nor my valet key.
Anyhow, I will update you all as soon as I hear from Audi. They were very kind to me on the phone and we'll see what happens!

Re: Audi Customer Advocate - LONG
The brakes on my new 06 S4 Avant were so loud I was embarassed to pull up to a stop sign. I was told that this is normal, what a joke. Many complaints and calls to AOA later and they replaced the pads, haven't had any problems since.

Squealing brakes
I remember when I bought my now gone 1987 5000CS quattro, within 6 months the brakes started to squeal really bad. When I asked about it at the dealer, they handed me a very well done brochure titled something like "Brake squeal and your Audi"!!
It mentioned that although the brake pads are a wear item and not covered by any warranty, Authorized Audi dealers do "offer" "solutions" to squealing brakes! HAHAHAHAHA. They wanted $165 for new, improved brake pads (with a soft plastic pad on the back of the pads) and some thin sheet metal spacers that fit between the pad & caliper/piston. Besides the $165 for the pads, 1.5 hours labore at $55/hour.
Very nice.

UPDATE! - Re: Audi Customer Advocate - LONG
Got a phone call back from the Advocate and she called my back within 24 hours as promised. Audi under "goodwill" replaced the front brakes on the car and the sales manager wants to meet with me personally when I go to pick up the car today. I have not heard from the dealer yet, but I will let you all know what is discussed and any resolutions after speaking with the sales manager.
So far a good experience
