Audio problem, help!
This morning, after a very cold night (for St. Louis - high teens) my 2004 D3 audio system is making a horrible sound.
I would describe it as a static & feedback mixed sound that comes only from the left front speaker just behind the main instrument cluster.
The MMI is working fine with the radio and cd inputs. Tracks, stations etc. are all accessible on the MMI screen and the "horrible" sound is a distorted version of the input.
When I play with fade, balance, treble, bass, and surround settings it changes nothing. In additon, the mute button does indeed mute the sound so at least I can tuirn it off.
Any ideas? COuld it be melted & re-frozen ice into some compartment that froze and shorted something?
Thanks in advance!

Had the same thing happen in the 05. Gives you quite a surprise...
when it happens!
Only happened the once then the car returned to normal. Same thing, I left the car outside on a very cold evening.
