Default Background Lighting issue

I'm wondering if my MMI is playing with me. I just did a search and read about 'Background Lights', then did a 'RTFM' (read the f'n manual) and here's what I get on my car:

When Background Lights are selected I get the screen (p.191) I can select any of the four options and get the next screen with the dial, but when I spin the MMI wheel, the dial lifts about one notch then returns it's starting point on it's own. Thats all I get, yet all else seems ok, tire monitoring etc...

I tried with the lights on, hit the overhead (on/off) button, still nothing. Am I missing something here?

MMI is 1070 0437

Default Sure seems like something is not working right. Mine allows the...

...setting of the intensity of the lights from that screen.

You might try a re-boot of the MMI "just because".

Hmmm, one reboot coming up. Didn't think of that, this should be fun...

Just rebooted and got the same result. I did have a MMI system crash a couple weeks ago, but after I shut it off & on it was fine.

My does not work either.. But I guess because I don’t have the option (button) to switch modes up in the head console infront of the sunroof switch if you have one...

I dont have one either. But i got this to work. Trick was to change coding a little bit with vcds. I believe it was module 38. Sun roof. Or something like that. Then go to 07 coding. And add +128 to your excisting code.
