Default brake rotor and pads recommendation?

06 A8L 150,000 miles. Probably keep for another two years (about 50,000 miles)

NOT looking for high performance. I drive like an old man (I am one). I want smooth stops without vibration or pulsations. My assumption is my rotors are 385mm (correct?) I like the idea or coated to reduce rust, etc. I also understand high carbon steel will resist warping, etc. I don't think I need slotted or drilled.

Pad prices are all over the place, but this is what I've found for rotors:

I can't find Zimmerman or Brembo in 385mm

FCP has Meyle rotors from $40, to $80
Blauparts rotors at $95 ea.
NAPA for $85
WBR Coated $120
ATE Coatedd $202

Not sure if keeping your car looking clean is important to you, but if it is, do yourself a favor and get some ceramic pads. I use EBC Redstuff up front and Akebono Euro Ultra-ceramics in the rear. Brake dust has reduced by 75% and I don’t really notice a change in the stopping power. But some do not like the ceramic pads....I hate having dirty wheels. I went with the Stop Tech slotted rotors, no complaints and well-priced.

Simple: FCP Euro Zimmerman Front Rotors and Brembo Rear Rotors with ATE, and/or Textar Pads

Did this job about a year and half and 15,000 miles before I sold my A8 to my mechanic and the stopping power, feel, and sound (non-existent) were supreme. I wouldn't go with any other brand. Also if you want the Audi branded pads (which I went with, due to not knowing exactly if ATE or Textar were OEM), they aren't much more than the ATE or Textar, however you don't get the lifetime warranty like FCP offers! Lastly, after 15,000 miles the wear was near not noticeable.

Default Went cheap.

Purchased Meyle rotors off Amazon. Went with Meyle pads. Think it was 200.00 for all four wheels.
Replaced the Meyle pads after 10,000 miles. They squealed on light braking. Changed to TRW pads and no dust or noise.
Some recommend OEM. The factory rotors on my car were worn to unsafe condition in 69,000 miles. Was driven in NYC traffic. Have put 35,000 on the Meyle Professional rotors and they look like new, no groove or ridge.
