Camshaft Position Sensor & Timing Chain
Hello,
I was following another thread where it mentioned the error code P0391 and that it is recommended to check the Camshaft values to see if there is underlying timing chain issues.
Mine is a 2007 A8 D3 and I asked my independent to run the VCDS, Block 93 and these values came up:
Group 093: Continuous Camshaft Adjustment (Phase Position)
4.5°KW Phasenlage Intake Bank 1
8.6°KW Phasenlage Intake Bank 2
8.6°KW Phase Position Exhaust Bank 1
5.3°KW Phase Position Exhaust Bank 2
From what I read here the timing chain service limit 8 and these values would be greatly in excess of that and could indicate a problem.
Any comments or suggestions would be really appreciated.
best regards,
