Default Changing the center console volume ****

This may seem pretty obvious to many of you, but I looked all over to try and figure out how my 2007 A8 volume **** on the center console could be changed and didn't find anything. The chrome part was peeling off and besides looking bad, the rough edges actually drew blood one day so I ordered a new one for about $30.

A few posts about the A6 led me to take a leap of faith and use pliers to pull straight up and that worked. It's pretty simple once you know that's the process so I thought I'd share in case anyone else comes looking for how to do it again.

When I did pull the old one off, the rubber ring that goes around the base fell off. It just goes right back on and then push the new **** straight down.

Very nice. Thanks. I like the title. It has to be easy searchable.

I'm in the same predicament, well almost to the "blood" stage.

Where did you get the volume know from?

Ebay is only listing ones in the UK.

Thanks for the great info.

Michael.

Thanks for the thread. My chrome is peeling off too. I will order one soon and replace now that I know it's so easy to remove.
